Purpose to Progress

From direction to enterprise.

Connect what pulls you with a real need. Use what you have, learn what you need, try something useful and improve through experience. That is enterprise resourcefulness.

One approach, two entry points

Direction is Built is the short starting book and P2P companion. Read or scan its main ideas in about 30 minutes. Use its exercises at your own pace, independently, in a group or with a mentor.

P2P is the deeper practical programme. Work towards a business that serves customers, records sales and costs and can repeat or improve its offer. Basic reading and writing skills are enough to begin. You may be out of school, studying, a graduate or already working. A group or mentor is optional.

Both are rooted in Christian faith and values: honesty, service, wise stewardship and steady effort. Anyone ready to learn and act is welcome.

Your Direction Compass

  1. What pulls you? Notice interests, talents and what people ask you to help with. You can also discover a strength by trying something unfamiliar.
  2. What matters? Find a real need. Ask how people manage it now, what is difficult and who might pay for a useful solution.
  3. What can you build? Choose a useful skill and a small offer you can test with the resources available.

The eight-stage P2P journey

  1. Your starting point. Record strengths, interests, available time and constraints. Choose one manageable action and a date.
  2. What pulls you and a real need. Start with one short, convenient conversation or visit. Record what you learned. Learn from more people as the idea develops.
  3. Your offer in one page. Name the customer, useful result, first price and delivery limits. Ask for feedback before spending.
  4. Practise a useful skill. Produce a small sample, get feedback and improve. Respect work that requires qualifications or permission.
  5. Test a small offer. Agree a manageable test, deliver reliably and record the response. Distinguish a free trial, an expression of interest and an actual paid sale.
  6. Price, deliver and manage money. Check price, direct costs, time, overheads and cash timing. Plan how you will deliver again.
  7. Find support for the next step. Identify the precise resource needed and a suitable source. Check terms and requirements before applying or committing.
  8. Operate, review and grow. Record customers, delivery, payments, costs and feedback. Decide what to repeat, improve, pause or change.

Eight weeks is a starting rhythm, not a deadline for every business. Give practical work the time it needs. Fit activities around work or studies. Younger participants should involve a parent or guardian in unfamiliar activities and commitments.

Keep returning to useful action

Each week ask: What happened? What did I learn? What will I try next? If an action is too large, make it smaller. If you miss a day, resume. If the evidence changes, change your approach. Persistence includes learning when to try something different.

Keep simple records

Sales are not profit. After direct costs, allow for time, overheads and maintaining the business. Begin with resources you can actually access; confirm permission before using someone else’s resources.

Progress to the next level

Completing lessons records learning. Business graduation should be grounded in real customers, delivery, money records and a workable next plan. The planned growth pathway will help established enterprises strengthen operations and prepare for suitable finance. Its support and entry terms are still being developed; there is no fixed turnover threshold announced.

Five seed awards are committed for the first P2P funding round. Selection is separate from programme completion. Award amounts, dates and terms will be announced before selection opens.

Current online access is free. A subscription offer is planned, with price and support details to be published before paid enrolment opens.
